Six peer leaders pose together after presenting at the October 7th staff Professional Development Day about diversity and challenges faced within the community.

The Connections program is recruiting a new cohort of Peer Leaders.

Teachers recently had the opportunity to nominate students whom they recognize as having the qualities of a good Peer Leader–public speaking skills, and a desire to stand up against bullying and discrimination.

Students who have been nominated will receive an email with further information in the near future.

Meanwhile, Peer Leaders from past cohorts will continue to give presentations in the ninth grade health classes, and one group even presented to a number of teachers and administrators during the October 7th professional development day.

If you happen to receive an email with further information, consider applying for the project in order to help make our community a stronger, more accepting place.

If you are interested in becoming a Peer Leader but do not receive an email, you are still welcome to apply. Please feel free to speak with Mr. Kristensen (Room 3114) or Ms. Papazian (Counseling Office) to get an application.
